Pre-Journey Safety Checks
- Attach coupling to the ball and ensure the handle is in the FULLY DOWN position and the safety catch is located over the lug. Pins through the safety catch are not required for forward towing.
- Two people are recommended to attach the trailer to the vehicle.
- Tow ball size needs to be 50mm.
- Attach Safety chain.
- Check brakes and all lights before use. Ensure hand brake is disengaged.
- If you have brake lights and tail lights working but no indicators, and your base plug on your cars is the same as the trailer, simply turn the lead around and the indicators will work.
- Know the TOWING CAPACITY of your vehicle and ensure the combined load does not exceed the weights below:
- 5x4 - No Brakes: 749kg
- Ensure your load is positioned with the majority of the weight forward.
- Check tyres, make sure sufficient tread is visible. It is recommended to also check all tyre pressures. Trailer tyre pressure should be around 32-36psi.
- Two people are recommended to lift the rear tailgate
- Faulty Equipment must not be used. Report any faults immediately.

- Maximum speed allowed is 100km/h.
- Beware of your distance between you and the vehicle in front. Allow more space for unexpected braking and stopping distances. Increase this distance even more in the wet.
- If swaying occurs DO NOT hit the brakes. Slowly decelerate, or where possible accelerate out to stop swaying. Once the sway is contained, stop and re-position load.
